Hey guys,

I’d like to bring a new perspective into the discussion about getting our money back. As much as I appreciate all the efforts of eazy and others, I feel that litigation should not be pursued due to the complication of the law, failures to pay money upfront, and increased difficulty to get a firm which would take such a difficult task.
However, I won’t be one of the flamers on 2p2 who say there’s no hope and to move on. I have as much credibility as any random on 2p2, but doesn’t it look like AP/UB is just waiting for America to legalize online poker and get themselves rolling again? If they wanted to close up shop, many of us agree they would have done it in April and said “sorry, your gov’t screwed us. We can’t pay”. However, since they haven’t (which is the reason why we still have hope) it looks like they’re just going to stay afloat, if possible, and hope the US gov’t gets their act together.
I encourage all of us to follow the threads on the Fight for Poker Rights (PPA) category and spam our congressman, senators, and any federal government politician. I used to live in DC as a college student and had many friends who worked on the Hill as interns for congressman. Those friends said that congressman often keep tally’s of how many constituents will mention a particular issue. My point is that these politicians listen… if enough of us speak up.

I posted this in the comments but, people are not reading it there so here it is in a posT:  I received this from Micki today:

Hello Blaine

As a result of internal restructuring, our webmail and email servers were off-line from Friday, July 29, 2011 until today, Tuesday, August 2, 2011.  During this time, any email sent to complaints or the Commission was not received, additionally no new advisories were posted to the website. As far as the Blanca license is concerned, it actually is good till July 31, 2012.  Consequently it is currently in good standing.  The Commission will post a further update in the next few days.

Right now we are all playing catch up having had no access to email since 9am last Friday morning.

A Post about UB~AP at Poker Plus

Posted in CEREUS PLAYERS UNION on July 20, 2011 by ruger98

We have read hundreds of news stories about what has been going on with Full Tilt Poker, but what about UB and Absolute Poker (AP)? Both sites are under the same Cereus network umbrella, and therefore are in tandem about what they do and how they do it. Neither site has addressed their former players since they posted a statement on their .eu websites on April 21, 2011:

Absolute Poker( including UB, formerly Ultimate Bet) has retained Blank Rome LLP as United States counsel to provide legal advice in relation to civil and criminal matters filed in federal court in Manhattan and made public on April 15, 2011. Absolute Poker is aware that on April 19, 2011, the US Attorney for the Southern District of New York entered into separate agreements with FullTilt Poker and PokerStars. These agreements concern the use of the respective www.fulltiltpoker.com and www.pokerstars.com domain names. The US Attorney, in a press release dated April 20, 2011, stated that the government is willing to enter the same agreement with Absolute Poker and UB.

At this time, Absolute Poker’s top priority is, and must be, the refund of balances to its and UB’s US players. However, given the far-reaching consequences of the US Attorney’s actions for Absolute Poker and for the entire poker community, Absolute Poker believes that the responsible course of action is to review with its attorneys the relevant court filings before taking any action.

Absolute Poker believes that the US Attorney shares the view that refunds to US players are an immediate and pressing concern, and Absolute Poker wishes to make clear that it wants to work cooperatively with the US Attorney to safely and efficiently return its players’ funds. To that end, Absolute Poker’s counsel has initiated communications with the US Attorney’s office and plans to continue proactively advancing those discussions.

Further information and timely updates will be provided to Absolute Poker/UB’s players as we move forward.

The Sum Of Good Government

Posted in Uncategorized on July 17, 2011 by gatorxp

A wise and frugal government, which shall leave men free to regulate their own pursuits of industry and improvement, and shall not take from the mouth of labor the bread it has earned – this is the sum of good government.
